One Step Closer
Liam has had another steady day here at the hospital and has reached his feeding goal of 45mls per hour! That is a big step towards discharge, but we aren’t fully there just yet. Liam still needs to get fully back on his previous medications given through his g-tube. We have slowly been adding those back over the last couple of days, and the last medications are being added back tonight. Thankfully this means we were able to remove one of his IVs today, and currently the PICC line is not being actively used for any medications.
So, what we are praying for at this point is a great day tomorrow here where Liam shows that he able to continue managing his feeds and medications. If he is able to do that then discharge could be as soon as Tuesday. But, as we know, this will all be led by Liam so as we hope and plan for Tuesday we know there may need to be contingency plans made should things turn in a different direction. It is certainly nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and more importantly to see Liam more comfortable and interactive again. His nurses have certainly been smitten by his smiles and giggles when they do show themselves.
Thank you for the continued prayers and support. It has been a quite the journey, and certainly a chapter we didn’t anticipate happening. And while we do still have big things to go (like discharge from the hospital and a 900 mile drive home), God has continually shown us how blessed we are by our incredible village. May God greatly bless you and your family always!

He looks so much better too! I’m so glad things are improving. Thank you Lord! We continue to keep him and the rest of your family in our prayers.
Blessings and prayers as you get closer to the goals
